Welcome Explorers !

In this webquest, you will be discovering facts about America's first wilderness and the largest park in the United States! You will learn about the history of how the Mountains came to be. Who discovered the land? What animals live there? After learning about how the Adirondacks came to be, you will join me in exploring the different kinds of animals that live in Upstate New York. Let's find out who lives in our backyard.....get ready :)

Seventh graders, get ready to embark on an exciting, educational, and energizing expedition! First things first...do you have all your bags packed? In the summer, the temperatures are mild and can reach up to 90 Degrees Farenheit but since we are in the winter, snow can reach up to ten feet high and be as cold as 40 below zero..burr! That is cold...make sure you choose warm clothing....hats, scarfs, and mittens!

WHY SHOULD WE STUDY THIS?

This area of NY State is located just two hours North of us and what is all around us affects everybody!

Learning Standards

Your learning experiences will be carefully chosen with the New York State Learning Standards. The subjects included in this exploration will be Social Studies, Science, and English.
